Abstract
The crystal structure of the title compound, {(C8H 12N)[HgCl3]}n, exhibits alternating organic and inorganic layers, which interact via N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding. In the inorganic layer, an infinite one-dimensional anion chain is formed by [HgCl 3]- subunits.
