Abstract
A series of five patients with Klebsiella pneumonia, of whom four were young, is presented. The infection was not acquired in hospital, and none of the patients had a predisposing or debilitating disease. Viral or mycoplasma infection, combined with indiscriminate use of broad spectrum antibiotics might have played a role in the pathogenesis of the disease.
