Abstract
By using the method proposed in a previous paper the differential and integrated capture cross sections for the processes p+H(1s)→H(n l)+p are computed as a function of incident kinetic energy, for energies of 25 keV and higher, and compared with experiment. The results are compared with the Jackson and Schiff scaling rules and are used to compute the total charge-exchange cross section for proton-hydrogen-atom collisions.
