Coherent control of thermal emission from SiC due to coupled resonant cavity structure

Abstract

Coherent thermal emission from an anisotropic microstructure upon SiC is presented. The enhanced coherency is due to coupled resonant cavities supported by surface phononpolaritons. A quality-factor 600 and an angular divergence of 1.4mrad are obtained.
