Abstract
A rough calculation is made of the displacement energy in an Fe-Mo solid solution directly from the phase diagram. The temperature dependence of the Gibbs energy during the formation of the intermetallic compound Mo//2Fe//3 is calculated. The thermodynamic analysis carried out and the experimental data corroborating it provide evidence that this intermetallic compound has a lower temperature limit.
