Competing reactions with initially separated components in the asymptotic time region

Abstract

An analysis of two competing irreversible reactions showed that in the asymptotic time region the reaction rate profile could have two maxima and their ratio was independent of time. More importantly, the second maximum can be higher than the first one. The location and relative value of the second maximum were the functions of the reaction constants k1, k2 and initial concentrations.
