Abstract

The finite element program FIDAP was applied to solve the three dimensional Navier-Stokes equations for fluid flow at low Reynolds numbers in a T-type bifurcation of circular tubes. The solution was then used to determine the shape of the separation surface. The numerical results agree well with the experimental results.
