Abstract

We have examined the cathodoluminescence of lanthanum magnesium hexaaluminate heavily doped with europium and manganese. Emission peaks characteristic of manganese, europium and an unidentified defect have been observed. No evidence of energy transfer between europium and manganese ions has been measured.
