Abstract

A program is described which constructs the 3-D representation of a plane-faced part from a regular engineering drawing. The program ″understands″ the meaning of the drawing, which is input with no restrictions whatever on the order of drawing the lines, pointing to the vertices, or other format instructions. The program checks the topology of the object defined by the drawing; if it represents a feasible 3-D body, the 3-D representation will be output. If the drawing is not feasible, because of a superfluos, wrong or misplaced line, an error message is generated. Any plane-faced part, with or without penetrations, is dealt with.
