Abstract

The paper quantifies power conversion efficiency of clamped-type magnetic energy harvester (MEH), supplying power to constant voltage load (CVL) via controlled rectifier. The MEH is assumed to be clamped around a 50Hz/60Hz power line conductor and the CVL voltage is expected to be several tens of volts, allowing neglecting rectifier switching losses. Consequently, magnetic and conduction losses only are taken into account. Analytical expressions related to circuit variables are developed and experimentally validated.
