Abstract
Optical measurements of the luminescence of Eu2+-doped lanthanum magnesium aluminate (LMA or LaMgAl11O19) after high-temperature annealing in various atmospheres are reported. Major differences in the excitation spectra are explained by the reversible conversion of Eu2+ into Eu3+.
