The fraction (η1/ η0) should be raised to the power 3: [Formula presented]where subscripts 1 and 0 refer to new and initial values for saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ksat), porosity (η), and bulk density (ρb), and δ is an empirical factor related to texture, varying between 2 and 4 for loamy soils and 4 and 6 for sandy soils.
