Abstract

The author presents results of quasiclassical close-coupling-approximation calculations for differential and integrated cross sections and multipole moments for electron-hydrogen impact excitation. These results are compared with calculations using other scattering-theory approximations and with experiment. Discrepancies between the various theoretical results and between theory and experiment are found. Possible sources for some of the discrepancies are mentioned.
