Abstract

Decay mechanism of fracture induced electromagnetic pulses was investigated. The rise and fall time of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) from propagating cracks was considered. It was shown that that in glass and in glass ceramics, which are not porous, and in granite, which is 5% porous, rise and fall time is inversely proportional to pulse frequency.
