Abstract
We consider the decay of the neutral particle which could be formed during the heavy-ion collisions in which e+e- MeV peaks by the means of a Cherns-Simons mechanism previously discussed by Guendelman and Owen. By this mechanism, the formed particle is a 'four-dimensional' realization of the 2 + 1 Chern-Simons topological object. It is of interest since it is able to explain the general features of the mass spectrum of the e+e- MeV peaks resulting from heavy ion collisions. In this paper the polarizations of the e+e- decays of this so-called heavy Chern-Simons 'photon' are obtained with a view to a possible future comparison of experimental results with the polarizations predicted here.
