Abstract
The dependence of number and exposure albedo on atomic number of the scatterer, in the range Z equals 1 to Z equals 26, is studied by Monte Carlo calculations, for sources of energy range 0. 1 to 5 Mev, and various incident angular distributions. The parameter calculated and studied is not the albedo itself, but the ratio of albedo in material Z to a standard material, arbitrarily chosen as aluminum (Z equals 13). It is found that in the range 0. 5 to 5 Mev, the dependence of the albedo ratio on Z is almost independent of source energy.
