Abstract

Descriptive statistics, calculated from the data, provide summary information about properties of a data set. In this article some of the most widely used descriptive statistics are detailed with the allied formulae. These include the sample average, median and other sample quantiles, mode, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, range, interquartile range, skewness, and kurtosis.
