Abstract
Desorption of acetone by means of an air stream from its water solutions was investigated in a two-impinging-stream spray desorber. The spray nozzles used were of the kind where the two streams (air and water-acetone solution) come in contact only after leaving the spray nozzle. The results indicate that desorption in two impinging streams is a very efficient process. Mass-transfer coefficients in spray desorption, which are important for design and for comparisons between various kinds of equipment, are reported.
