Abstract

The use of a new strain of Bacillus thuringiensis has been successfully used in mosquito control in Israel. Toxicity tests with Culex pipiens and Aedes aegypti showed that the strain was effective in LD₅₀ bioassays. Field trials with B. thuringiensis showed that several applications were needed and the organism shows promise to replace currently used insecticides.
