Abstract

The use of a new strain of Bacillus thuringiensis has been successfully used in mosquito control in Israel. Toxicity tests with Culex pipiens and Aedes aegypti showed that the strain was effective in LD50 bioassays. Field trials with B. thuringiensis showed that several applications were needed and the organism shows promise to replace currently used insecticides.
