Abstract
A newly fundamental model for generating three-phase signals is developed by considering mathematical principles. The model depends on the attainment of a stable three-dimensional limit-cycle dynamic behaviour, which is associated with three cyclically symmetrical sinewaves of high precision. The new model differs from previous models suggested by us in its reduced complexity, which makes it tractable for simple electronic realization. Furthermore, the electronically realized system is considerably less sensitive to drifts and offsets than previous designs. Practical applications of the instrument are also discussed.
