Abstract

The paper begins by treating two phase linear oscillators. It is then shown how several such oscillators can be coupled together by a superposition to become a high order linear polyphase system. The order of the resulting polyphase oscillator is the same as the number of coupled oscillators and not twice that number as is usual when coupled non-linear oscillators ore treated. Polyphase linear symmetrical oscillators may be related to some non-linear coupled oscillator systems which are fundamental in dealing with some biological and physiological phenomena. The polyphase oscillators are also related to certain technological systems, and may reveal a fundamental feature of three phase power systems .
