Abstract

A new aperture-type near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM) technique, termed differential NSOM (DNSOM) is illustrated. DNSOM utilizes sharp corners of an aperture to beat diffraction-limit, and unlike conventional NSOM, the size of the aperture does not determine the resolution.
