Abstract
The thin layer sectioning technique is used to determine the solute diffusivities of 198Au in Pr single crystals. The results show greatly reduced anisotropic diffusion effects relative to those previously measured in h.c.p. Er single crystals. The reduced anisotropic diffusion in the double‐h.c.p. structure of Pr lends support to the interstitial model for fast solute diffusion.
