Abstract
Dislocation creep of pure magnesium is related to the 〈1120〉 {0001} basal slip systems up to 225°C. Transmission electron microscopy of an ingot casting AZ91D magnesium alloy, crept at 180°C, revealed dislocation segments which do not lie on the basal planes exist. It is therefore assumed that other slip systems are active in this alloy in addition to the basal ones.
