Abstract

The nucleophilic addition of triorganylsilylalkanethiols and trialkylsilylalkanols to divinyl sulfoxide results in the formation of vinyl β-(triorganylsilylalkanethio)ethyl sulfoxides, bis[β-(triorganylsilylalkanethio)ethyl] sulfoxides, vinyl β-(trialkylsilylalkoxy)ethyl sulfoxides, and bis[β-(trialkylsilylalkoxy)ethyl] sulfoxides.
