Abstract
A horizontal realization of the Peccei-Quinn symmetry together with the presence of B (or B - L) global invariance allow us to solve the domain wall problem without the need for exotic fermions or extra gauge interactions. The intergenerational Yukawa structure dictated by the connectness of the manifold of degenerate vacuum states is analysed.
