I have had much assistance in my struggle to bring forth this book on Heidegger and poetry. Over the years many students patiently read with me Heidegger's writings, and we thought together about his insights. My poet friend, Myra Shapiro, has for years discussed poetry with me, encouraging me to dwell poetically. Other friends, among them Harold Shapiro and Leonard Grob, have supported my many academic and political activities, some of which are echoed in this book. My son, Neve, read chapters of the book and offered valuable insights. Nahum Finger, Rector of Ben Gurion University, and Jimmy Weinblat, Dean of Arts and Social Sciences provided financial support for this publication. Thanks to all of you.
