Abstract
An extraction process has been simulated by a simple mathematical model (uniform mixing in the equilibrium stage). This model has been corrected by the introduction of the stationary distribution of components and the observed efficiency of each stage. In the design of a real extraction system the concept of an 'averaged real extraction system' is introduced and illustrated by computations on the analogue computer.
