Dynamic stability of laminated plates with physical non-linearity

The dynamic instability of laminated plates with physical non-linearity, subjected to periodic in-plane loads is investigated. The non-linearity is due to the matrix material, which mainly affects the shear modulus. The plates are analyzed within the classical laminated plates theory as well as within the first- and third-order shear deformation theories. Modified Mathieu equations are obtained and their instability condition is examined.
