Abstract
The time-resolved spectrum and small signal gain of CO laser emission obtained from flash photolysed CS2NO2 are reported and analysed. It is suggested that NO2 efficiently quenches high vibrational levels of CO. A method is described for using the gain characteristics to estimate the quenching rates.
