Abstract

Myanmar is rich in natural resources and its ecosystem services provide livelihoods for the local population. However, in recent years, natural resources have been reduced and the ecosystem services have gradually deteriorated, which has impacted the people's livelihoods and the country's economy. This chapter describes the causes of ecological degradation in Myanmar, the relationship between ecosystem services and people's livelihoods, and the relevant ecological protection and restoration strategies, and puts forward some suggestions for reducing the ecological problems in Myanmar.
