Abstract

1. If the similarity criteria (12)-(15) for anodic dissolution of geometrically similar specimens of one and the same metal are fulfilled, the strength of the metal is not affected by the scale factor. 2. In tests designed to simulate the effects of anodic dissolution processes, the duration of the test, electrolyte concentration, and current density must all be selected so as to satisfy the similarity conditions.
