Abstract
Efficient visible anti-Stokes emission was observed in the KEu0.2Yb0.8(WO4)2 crystal after a direct excitation of the Yb3+ ion. This emission is associated with the Eu3+ ion and originates not only from the 5D0 state but also from the 5D2 and 5D1 states. The process of up-conversion was investigated at 300 K as a function of excitation power. It was demonstrated that the process was non-linear and changed with the incident power as Pexcn, n = 1.5. The mechanism of up-conversion processes occurring in the KEu0.2Yb0.8(WO4)2 crystal is briefly discussed.
