    Abstract

A new dressing for bandages is said to be capable of application with just one hand due to its construction and packaging. It is intended for the control of bleeding from wounds and uses a self-adhesive elastic strip combined with an absorbent pad for application on the wound side of the dressing. Pressure applied by the elastic strip is quoted at 10.7kPa, sufficient for therapeutic benefits without blood flow restriction. This patented invention is capable of implementation in a number of forms, all providing hygienic isolation of a wound while compressing and blocking ruptured blood vessels.
