Elastic properties of LaSnxNi5-x compounds

Abstract

A hot isostatic pressing technique was used to prepare polycrystalline samples of LaSnxNi5-x for 0≤x≤0.5. As such, x-ray lattice parameter and density measurements indicated that these materials had near-theoretical densities. Comparing moduli for these two different materials as a function of unit cell volume showed great similarities, indicating similarities of the interatomic potentials for the same unit cell volume.
