Abstract

Recently, an experimental evidence for the magnetoelectric (ME) coupling in a bianisotropic particle (BAP) has been observed experimentally [1] and the role of different types of surface metalization on this ME effect has also been studied [2]. This paper elucidates the emergence of ME coupling in a BAP composed of a ferrite disk resonator with a surface metalization numerically by using finite- difference time-domain (FDTD) method and experimentally. Both numerical and experimental results of a BAP show that the ferrite resonator can be excited by electric field, and thus evidence of ME coupling in a BAP is presented.
