Abstract

The voltammetric behavior of aqueous copper ethylenediamine solutions has been studied. Electrocatalytic oxidation waves were obtained which are attributed to the formation of trivalent copper as an intermediate. It is suggested that Cu(III) oxidizes ethylenediamine and water. The mechanism of the electrocatalytic process is discussed in detail.
