Abstract

Highlights An eco-friendly approach is demonstrated to synthesis N-doped CDs from cotton boll peels and glycine. N-doped CDs were exploited for the determination of anti-cancer drug, pemetrexed. The sensor N-CDs/GCE showed electrocatalytic activity with ∼20-fold enhancement in the oxidation peak current. The sensor exhibited superior stability, reproducibility, and selectivity. Utility in biological samples and pharmaceutical formulations was established.
