Electromagnetic barrier penetration in a dispersive medium: Tunneling times and dispersion relations

Abstract

An electrodynamic scattering process that takes place inside an absorptive and dispersive medium is presented. The duration of this scattering process is characterized by two time parameters. These are the real and imaginary parts of the complex tunneling time.
