EMBRITTLEMENT OF HIGH-ALLOY NICKEL ALLOYS IN MEDIA CONTAINING HYDROGEN SULFIDE.

Abstract

The authors determined embrittlement of Fe-Ni-Cr materials of elastic sensitive elements of instruments in an aqueous solution of 5% NaCl and 0. 5% CH//3COOH under a pressure of 0. 2-1. 8 MPa of H//2S and up to 3. 0 MPa of CO//2 at 20-110 degree C, simulating the media of the Astrakhan gas condensate deposit. Embrittlement in the plastic state increases with H//2S concentration; in the hardened state this dependence is preserved in 36NKhTYu and partly in 40NKKhTYuMD, but in 36NKhTYuM5 and 36NKhTYuM8 embrittlement is related to reduction in strength. The thickness of the hydrogenated layer on the hardened alloys is less than 0. 15 mm and decreases with rise in molybdenum content.
