ESTIMATION OF FLUID PROPERTIES AND PHASE EQUILIBRIA.

Research output: Contribution to specialist publicationArticle

Abstract

A course designed to cover the theoretical and practical aspects of properties estimation was introduced into the curriculum. The course is given to junior and senior students who have a strong background in thermodynamics and transport phenomena. Through the course, two fundmental methods for estimating properties are emphasized: Corresponding states principle (CSP); and Equations of State. Another method is the group contribution method. The material studied during the course is practiced in homework problems which include applications of the correlations. The course is a good opportunity to review and emphasize the practical aspects of fundamental principles in thermodynamics and transport phenomena.
