Estimators for health indices from the detected sick rate data

Markov models of probabilistic transitions from the health state to the state of latent or detected disease for estimation of the latent sick rate and the mean time of health life are considered. Non-chronic diseases with possible fatal outcome and without it are considered. A practical example is presented on calculation of health indices in two Russian towns by the data of patient appealing with pulmonary diseases.
