Abstract
A comparison between a 'Smooth Cayenne Serrana' collected in Ciego de Avila and the 'Smooth Cayenne from Martinica' was carried out in order to assess their differences with regard to adaptation to soil and climate conditions in Cuba. The growth and development dynamics together with some parameters of productivity and fruit quality were studied. The local 'Smooth Cayenne' showed the most favourable indexes, which demonstrated its better adaptation to Cuban conditions.
