Abstract

The paper deals with a model for desulphurization of waste water after its saturation by toxic exhaust gases from the combustion chamber of an electric power station. The model develops the cell model approach to bubbles ensemble mass transfer and provides for a quantitative estimation of the H2SO4 concentration field formation in a purification pond saturated with air bubbles. The cell model permits the mass flux alone to be calculated and then, using some exact solutions for the bubble diffusion problem, the volume concentration of H2SO4 in the purification pond to be evaluated.
