Abstract
A survey to evaluate the health services of the Kupat Holim Sick Fund in the Yehuda District was carried out. The main findings are summarized under 2 headings, general problems and specific problems of special interest. A scheme for improving the health services in the area based on the findings of the survey is presented. It calls for maximal involvement of the department of medicine of the regional hospital in various primary health service functions outside the hospital, and for appropriate reorganization of these services. However, the scheme is intended to encourage and advance the development of independent family medicine and not to constitute another branch of hospital medicine.
