Exact 2 × 2 matrix method for the transmission and reflection at the interface between two arbitrarily oriented biaxial crystals

Abstract

A complete method to determine the reflection and transmission coefficients between two arbitrarily oriented biaxial crystals at oblique incidence is presented. The method is general and can also be applied to absorbing and gyrotropic crystals. Explicit expressions are derived for some special geometries.
