Abstract

Cross sections were measured by the stacked-foil technique over the energy range of 2-36 MeV for 3He-particle induced nuclear reactions on natural Ni leading to the formation of 62,65Zn, 60,61Cu, 56,57Ni, 55,56,57,58Co, 52,53Fe and 52Mn. The measured excitation functions were considered regarding their potential use as monitor reactions. Several reactions appear to be suitable for monitoring beam energy and intensity: their cross sections were cross-checked with a few well-known 3He monitor reactions on Cu and Ti.
