Abstract

The effect of corona wind, produced by a stretched steel wire confined by two brass wings, on heat transfer from a heated horizontal plate was experimentally investigated. Optimal geometric parameters for the electrostatic blower and high voltage supply were established. Under these optimal conditions, the heat transfer coefficient is three times greater than that for natural convection.
