Abstract

As a special case of crack interaction, the problem of two collinear cracks is considered. For two equal cracks under the first mode traction condition, the complete solution is presented. The fracture conditions were established for far and close located cracks. For the close located cracks the extension (tension) fracture was observed for the first time.
